This is a required beginning of the year training for ALL Admin Assistants (release time) it is an optional paid training for clerks and parent coordinators.
Our focus on this day will be on developing our skills for improving our customer service at all school sites and district offices. Our ultimate goal is to improve attendance and ensure that our community feels welcomed while visiting any of our locations. Lunch will be provided. This training will be facilitated by Trinette Marquis, a communications expert and public relations leader. With more than 20 years experience in the field, she regularly leads workshops for school public relations professionals on communications, marketing and strategic planning. She is accredited through the Public Relations Society of America and serves as the Executive Director of the California School Public Relations Association. More

Special Education Training Per FCEA Contract Article: 8.1.1 Effective July 1, 2015, all new certified employees in the Special Education Department shall, in addition to the days set forth in Article 8.1, have two (2) professional development days paid at their daily rate. 8.1.2 These dates are mandatory and shall be scheduled by the special Education Department.

Re-Certification for Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. TCI provides staff with skills, knowledge, and confidence to manage a child in crisis who may be explosive or aggressive. Applying the TCI principles of crisis prevention, non-violent de-escalation and restraint, a direct care worker can attain therapeutic control and maintain dignity for both adult and child during the most difficult crisis experiences. This course is open to Special Ed Teachers, Paraeducators, and Administrative staff who are TCI trained and need to renew their certification.
