This training is open to Special Education Staff, Mental Health Specialists, Behaviorists, Counselors, Nurses, Social Workers and specific teachers and other department staff.
Rick Griffin from CRI Resilient will provide this training covering an overview of ACEs, the impact of trauma and chronic stress on brain development and how trauma (including racism) has a multi-generational impact. Mr. Griffin will help attendees look at behavior through a trauma-informed lens, see how this work is connected to our district's MTSS and SEL initiatives and offer practical strategies for staff to create equity-focused and trauma responsive schools. He will help attendees recognize the adult behaviors that build youth resilience and create a safe environment so that all students achieve academic excellence and have mutually-respectful relationships with their peers and adults.
Training will be paid for staff who are off contract.
